Chalana is the of founder of RETRACE™ Hospitality” and an independent hospitality and tourism consultant based in Sri Lanka. He specializes in regenerative hospitality development, investment advisory, asset management and strategic marketing of tourism products globally. Through his work, Chalana advocates for a more conscious alignment of people, planet, profit and purpose in the hospitality and tourism sector. Chalana was a contributing author to the Routledge, Taylor & Francis textbook publication [Critical Questions in Sustainability in Hospitality] 2023 and actively contributes to global thought leadership on regenerative and transformative tourism. His work highlights the impact tourism creates as a catalyst for positive change across demographics and destinations. He has presented as a Guest Speaker at MIPIM – the World’s Leading Real Estate Market Event (France), ITB – the World’s Largest Travel Market (Germany) and the Young Hoteliers Summit (Switzerland).
